In 1987 translator John McGlynn established the not-for-profit Lontar Foundation, whose Modern Library of Indonesia Series translates influential Indonesian works into English. He discusses the importance of the project with Indonesian author Leila S. Chudori and Ian Nichols. Co-presented with the Lontar Foundation.
